Steve Parker has worked in the entertainment industry since he was 13 years old. He started working backstage for amateur dramatics groups in Havering, Essex. Eventually the local theatre offered him work and he started working part time for them whilst completing a degree in engineering.
Degree finished Steve then started to work full time with a flying effects company based in Las Vegas, his work took him frequently over to Vegas, which is where he first fell in love with the city that never sleeps.
In his 20’s Steve spent a couple of years touring with rock and roll bands like the Rolling Stones & David Bowie, but then decided to go back to working in theatre as a production manager in London’s West End. During this time he worked on some of the greats such as Les Miserable, Miss Saigon and Tommy, he also transferred a couple of shows to Broadway. There were a few more ‘unusual’ projects as well such as rigging for a circus and even took an ice skating show to Bangkok as part of the official cultural celebrations for the King of Thailand’s birthday. Steve also worked on some major television shows in the UK including 8 Royal & Children’s Royal Variety shows and the first ever Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and who could forget Noel’s House Party!
Eventually Steve moved into the corporate sector working as a technical director for one of the largest independently owned global brand design and communications companies (Imagination). With offices around the globe Steve found himself working on many award-winning projects at an international level, for major blue chip and telecoms companies. During this period Steve also had great fun putting together the first three Harry Potter DVD launches where amongst other projects he supervised “Hogwarts” being built on the platform at Kings Cross Railway station in London. Most recently Steve was behind the delivery of a special gala dinner for a major bank on the Great Wall of China and in the Forbidden City, Beijing and also an award winning pan European media event for Sony.
Steve has now settled in Las Vegas where he is now working as a producer and technical director with long time friend and now business partner Andy Walmsley. He is also having great fun working with Sam & Steve on UKLV.
